Case study: Thames Gateway London Partnership
TGLP have utilised our research and consultancy services to develop the Thames Gateway Knowledge Platform.
TGLP is a cross river, cross party organisation made up of the ten local authorities and seven universities in the London Thames Gateway area, as well as Dartford BC and Thurrock Council. Representing the whole of the London Thames Gateway area, the Partnership campaigns on behalf of its members to ensure the area is able to live up to its enormous potential and remains a key national and regional priority.

"Developed for our members and the wider regeneration community, we have used the Knowledge Platform Observatory since 2004. As well as providing a cost effective tool for our Local Authority members to analyse their own areas and neighbourhoods, it has allowed us to build a comprehensive picture of the complex social, economic and environmental dynamics of Thames Gateway London. The SMART Observatory has proved itself an invaluable tool in our campaigning, advocacy and lobbying work." Paul Morrissey, Deputy Chief Executive, Thames Gateway London Partnership

Local Futures has worked with TGLP for over decade, on a wide range of projects. Over this period TGLP has been an active user of Local Knowledge and since 2005 has had its own SMART Observatory. Developed by Local Futures, The Thames Gateway Knowledge Platform is a web-based on-line data service portal which provides access to a wide range of information about the Gateway and its communities. It is used both by local authorities and a wide range of partner organisations in the Thames Gateway, to create a better understanding of economic, social and environmental conditions.
