We understand your need to talk to your fellow policy and decisionmakers, to share experiences and share knowledge. That is why a subscription to Local Knowledge does not only give you access to our data and intelligence - we also bring our users together, providing a platform for continuous learning and support.
The Local Futures Network provides access to new ideas, research and evidence around the key future drivers of change, and draws on our specialist expertise in the knowledge economy and sustainable development.
It aims to help and support its members by:
- Advancing the place-shaping and futures agenda in their own stakeholder communities.
- Providing original insights into trends and 'drivers of change' that will affect their own local futures.
- Building local awareness and understanding of the knowledge economy and sustainable development issues amongst members, officers and partners.
- Developing more effective approaches to knowledge economy and sustainable community strategies
- Developing policy actions and exchanging experience and best practice, through structured and interactive learning opportunities.
The Network includes policy-makers, practitioners, academics and research institutes, with a shared interest in the future of regions and localities. It is supported by a dedicated web service containing a range of research and policy resources. This includes Local Futures publications, collaborative research outputs, case studies, and reports from partner organisations and researchers. Members receive regular newsletters and have access to our future drivers of change library. They are also invited to attend regular policy seminars.
