About Local Futures
Established in 1997, Local Futures is a research and strategy consultancy that provides a geographical perspective on economic, social and environmental change. We introduce this perspective into public policy and corporate strategies, both in the UK and internationally.

We provide research and consultancy services, but also offer a range of online services. These include our Local Knowledge and Customer Knowledge subscription services, together with computer generated Place Profiles - reports that tell a compelling 'story of place'.
Our Work
We work with organisations to create visions and strategies for places.

  • We help them achieve an understanding of current conditions, based on the latest data

  • We analyse underlying trends and future drivers of change

  • We create scenarios of how things might change and work with them to agree visions and strategies for the future
